The thermostat controller smart thermostat is used to adjust the temperature set point of mechanical thermostats in livestock buildings. It can also be used as a backup ventilation system when no temperature controller is detected. When the thermostat controller runs as a standalone unit (i.e. When there is no main temperature controller), the smart thermostat controls the room temperature with 3 fan outputs, 1 heating output and 1 air intake (tunnel curtain or vent doors).

Stand-alone backup system there is no communication between the main controller and the thermostat controller for 2 min
Fuses and other protection devices are installed on the outputs of the controller to protect its circuitry in the case of an overload or overvoltage
The controller can be connected to a computer, thus making it possible to centralize the management of information and diversify control strategies
The main temperature controller has transmitted an invalid temperature set point to the thermostat controller this happens when there is a difference of more than 4 deg F between two consecutive set points
This situation causes a set point alarm, when the thermostat controller operates as a stand-alone unit, it uses the previous valid set point transmitted by the main temperature controller or a user defined set point
The smart thermostat reads the set point of the main temperature controller on a regular basis
If the main controller fails, the smart thermostat continues running using the previous valid set point provided by the main controller, in other words there is no need to adjust mechanical backup thermostat anymore automatic thermostat adjustment
Pilot lights indicating the state of outputs allow the user to monitor the operation of the system without having to enter the building
Upto two temperature probes can be connected to the controller in order to obtain a more accurate reading of the average room temperature and a faster reaction time two independent temperature probe inputs
When the smart thermostat is used as a stand alone unit (i.e. when there is no main temperature controller)
It can automatically change the temperature set point over a given period of time in accordance with the user's requirements by specifying a temperature curve with upto six different points temperature curve
